Piccolo Singers (Grades 1-3): 5:00pm to 5:45pm: Wednesdays.  This choir is comprised of our youngest members. Here children are introduced to concepts like tone and rhythm and begin to sight read notes. Solfege based on movable ‘Do’ will be the standard. Singing is all done in unison to build skills in intonation and group singing.

Mezzo chorus (Grades 4-6): 5:45pm to 6:30pm: Wednesdays. This group will build on the concepts learned in the piccolo singers. More advanced sight reading will be performed to increase musicianship skills. Repertoire will introduce two-part singing aimed at building a more competent musical ear.

Virtuoso Voices (Grades 7-12): 6:30pm to 7:30pm: Wednesdays.  This will be the flagship choir focusing more on exposure to different types of repertoire including sacred, secular, traditional, and music from other cultures. Ability to match pitch and some experience with sight reading is a requirement for this group.

Performances will be combined events involving all three groups. The performance will include each group performing individually and at least one combined song to showcase the program. The number of performances will be determined based on group enrollment and season duration.

Private Instruction:

Director will be available to schedule private consultations for members which will focus on each student’s individual goals/musical needs. Packages and rates will vary based on those goals and time required to accomplish them.

Private lessons and consultations may also be scheduled to help prepare a student for enrollment in one of the groups if they have a deficiency in certain areas. For example, if a student with great pitch but no experience reading music wishes to participate in the Virtuoso Voices, they will have the opportunity to schedule a series of individual sessions with the director to develop skills in sight singing. Number of lessons required for enrollment will be based on the students ability and will be determined after an initial consultation.
